Ron Artest_rappin to

slam-online’s sam rubenstein is the first to review ron ron’s debut album “my world”, and is betting nba commish david stern will have it squashed by thanksgiving. in terms of controversy, “my world” apparently makes iverson`s “40 bars” sound like a nursery rhyme. read more on “the greatest album in the history of rapping basketball players” on slamonline.com!

corey

they don’t call him “homicide” for nothing, that’s for sure. this guy kills competition for a living, kinda like leon the professional. with a little more panache maybe. corey williams (bronx, ny) is what real streetball competition is all about - watch him bust alimoe for 48 points right here!. a loaded offensive arsenal and his fearless attitude have won him accolades like msg’s “last man standing”, dyckman’s “most outstanding player” and 2x mvp at ebc, where he also goes by “the most dangerous player at rucker”. his legendary street game has been homicides claim to fame so far.

but there may be more on the horizon, as homicide is set to join the nba’s denver nuggest at training camp next week. of course, he has been heavily linked to k1x-nation of hoop, after religiously sporting the k1x chiefglider on court. is homicide the next k1x warrior? stay tuned for more infos right here. and make sure to read up on homicide on www.probasketballnews.com!

rasheed sparks and roberto aufiero

remember our limited “white boy with hops” and “brother with range” tees? most of you loved them, some of you hated them…obviously, they messed with two of basketballs favorite racial cliches. we featured the above ad (which pictures team k1x alley-oop monster roberto aufiero and rasheed sparks) in slam magazines 10th anniversary issue, back in the winter of 2003.

one of our team k1x dunkers actually got his nickname from the notorious white boy tee. fabian greiser, 21, of rosenheim is probably the best dunker in germany today. an astoundingly wide array of dunks, surgeon-like precision and crazy hops made him the back-to-back slam dunk champion at germany`s nr.1 streetball event, the nba basketball challenge (2004 & 2005).

fabian was invited by our friends over at streetball.co.uk, to participate in their fifth annual all-star game. held at chessington square in south london, the game always features the flashiest ballers from the uk (and beyond). this year, the “flashiest player” award went to 6′ 8″ matthew bryan. matthew (18) is currently at south kent high school in connecticut and has commited to the university of washington for the 2007/08 season. it was fabian who shut down the dunk contest by jumping over everything and everyone. peep the highlight video here (thanks greg!).

strictly business white camo

meet the newest version of the k1x strictly business, pure breed on-court performer. this particular white/camo model is part of the k1x fall 06 collection, “step in the arena”. for many pro ballers, “the strictly” quickly established itself as the weapon of choice. its flashy design (for which k1x actually won the “brand new award” at the world’s biggest sports trade-show, “ispo”) is an obvious reason why. but it’s most definately the array of bball-specific technical features and detailing, that we take most pride in:
- the widest and lowest outsole on the market ensures superior court feel and maximum ankle protection
- memory foam collar and ergonomic lacing system for especially smooth experience
- compression molded e.v.a midsole
- internal loop construction for lacing
- rear-foot shock absorbtion (w.l.o.t.c. = way longer on the court) and a german engineered front-foot cushion (w.h.u.i.t.a = way higher up in the air)
- patent leather, tpu heel counter and strategic embroidery for extra stability
- air mesh booty for breathability
- 3-d tpu shank provides torsion stiffness for fast returns during lateral movement
- rubber outsole compound for indoor/outdoor durability and sick traction
