Rick Apodaca had plenty of reasons to celebrate Thursday night. After beating Canada 72:66 Puerto Rico has clinched the fourth and final spot in the fiba Americas championship’s semi finals. And “pretty ricky” definitely played his part in the win hitting 100% of his shots from behind the arc. The question remains if his k1x Strictly Business Puerto rico edition had anything to do with that … Make sure to tune in at 4 p.m. on Saturday when the “Pride of Puerto rico” and his squad take on the mighty US national team and are looking for revenge for what happened three days ago. Kobe Bryant surely remembers rick and his sbs (see below).

wow - yesterday the cage featured a marathon one on one free for all. homicide managed to snatch the $ prize twice, but got some serious comp along the way. brand manager fu (”schnitzel spin”) stepped up in lazy layups and more than held his own, while a-$ and hi rizer dazzled the crowd with spectacular plays, but it was kason “hand cuffs” mims who put a dog fight, winning 9 straight games before almost passing out on the magic floor.

If the second day was a sign of things to come, we need to start thinking about bouncers, doormen and admission fees. after a legendary one on two matchup feat. homicide vs. the sons of reverend run, heaps of hilights by the hi rizer and a stunning 3:0 performance by our man fu, team k1x took on the rappers, who made a lasting impression, thanks largely due to joell ortiz’ surprising on court skills (video is on the way).

the pan american games kicked off yesterday in las vegas, nevada. and k1x warrior rick apodaca started the show with a bang. rick went to work (in his k1x strictly business) and scored a team high 15 points in just 23 minutes of action. he also raked in 3 rebounds and 4 assists in the game against mexico but not even this stellar performance was enough to prevent the 100:89 loss for puerto rico. stay tuned right here to find out if rick apodaca and team pr succeed in claiming a spot for the olympics through this qualifiying tournament.

this short clip just hit us from toronto, canada. it features “ball 4 life” player mike “ghost” zanidean and some sorry dudes trying to get in his way. sometimes it’s hard to understand why people would wanna attract ridicule like that, but hey, every man has a right to make his own decisions. so if you decide you gotta challenge ghost, come and do it at the magic trade show in las vegas (august 27th - 30th), where the k1x cage (booth # 30506) will feature the likes of homicide, underwood, a-$, and ghost himself. that way, we all get a laugh out of it.

aww man, this is hip hop … k1x joell ortiz hits us with another rap anthem! check his new video “latino” off of “the brick: bodega chronicles” by clicking the image below. directed by ric cordero, the clip manages to squeeze a whole lotta soul and brooklyn vibe into a five minute work of art, kind of reminiscent of spike lee’s legendary “do the right thing”.
